A Few Simple Changes will make a Huge Difference

Kids eating healthy are a good nutritional way of life for children and teenagers. Most of our youth today don’t eat very healthy. If you eat at fast food dinners, you will more than likely gain weight and may even be entertaining high blood pressure, fatigue and poor concentration problems in school.

The body can not run properly on inferior fuel. Junk food, (fast food) is almost always high in saturated fat (bad fat), increased salt and sugar with very low fiber content which does not fuel the body in an optimal way. Healthy eating starts in the home with food preparations. Try some cooking, with discussions on good nutrition with weekly grocery shopping. Teaching your teen’s good healthy eating habits is a life time benefit and a lot less trips to the doctor’s office.

Kid Food Alternatives

Instead of eliminating junk food completely, try substituting some healthier alternatives. Kids love potato chips, try sweet potato chips. Instead of lots of salt and butter pop popcorn with no salt or butter. Use soy crisps, soy nuts or raw unsalted nuts for snacks.For fried chicken you can use a shake and bake recipe instead of frying the chicken all for kids eating healthy.

Every one loves ice cream, try frozen yogurt with less sugar and active cultures, healthy for the digestive system. Fruit smoothies are a great alternate snack for our young people. Sugar free, Jello is a great low calories sweet treat quick and easy to handle.

Although eating out is fun, convenient, it is usually very high in salt, sugar and saturated fat
Teaching children and teens the value of eating home cooked meals is not only healthier but usually more economical in the long run
Using alternatives helps children to see eating right does not mean sacrificing health or great taste
Exercise is key to great health, try new and invigorating ways to be active for all ages
Exercising Daily is a Must

For health benefits and well being, physical exercise should be done daily with moderate to vigorous intensity. Just walking briskly for one hour can be three miles of good healthy moments for heart health and stress reduction. Being active is essential for good health. The body was built to move and move often.

Just doing things around the house like raking leaves a kids chore, or cutting the grass and gardening the landscape is great exercise for teens.
